Reap and Rush: Become a Soul-Harvesting Envoy in a Chaotic Underworld

Longer mortal lifespans have thrown the underworld into chaos and your bosses are not happy. In Reap and Rush you step into the shoes of an envoy sent back to the mortal realm to right the balance - except reincarnation is broken and Zhong Kui, your superior, has vanished. The result is a fast, absurdly addictive action roguelike that mixes crowd-clearing combat with surprisingly quirky side duties.

Slice Through Hordes of Yaoguai

Combat is the core loop. You pick an envoy general and rush into waves of Yaoguai on a treacherous battlefield, carving through enemies with satisfying, visceral action. The systems underpinning those fights give the game its replayable bite - fate stones and yin spells can be freely combined to create unpredictable power combos, and underworld currency lets you buy paper crafts that radically change your approach.

The designers leaned into variety over complexity. Between skill upgrades, passive synergies from fate stones and active yin spells, no two runs should feel identical. That constant variety makes each loop feel fresh while keeping the combat tight and immediate.

Not Just Killing: The Odd Jobs of an Envoy

Reap and Rush balances its brawling with small, often comedic tasks. You will not only harvest souls but also feed a hungry Yaoguai, help a misplaced god find their temple, or untangle a fox spirit mid-cultivation. These scenes add personality and occasional mechanical rewards, reinforcing the game's tone - this is an underworld that needs both pen and blade.

Those encounters give the underworld a lived-in feel. They also remind you that your role is bureaucratic as much as it is violent. Mastering an envoy means balancing brute force with a little diplomacy and problem solving.

Endless Cycles, Endless Conspiracies

Reap and Rush leans into roguelike fundamentals: persistent discovery, build experimentation, and consequence-driven repetition. As you climb through cycles you piece together hints of a larger conspiracy tied to Zhong Kui's disappearance and the broken reincarnation system. The humor and high-energy combat keep each run light enough to jump back in quickly, while the narrative threads give purpose to the chaos.

The team behind the game emphasizes player feedback and ongoing updates, so expect tuning, new synergies and more oddball underworld duties over time. For players who love fast-action roguelikes with a mischievous tone and deep build potential, Reap and Rush offers a polished core loop that rewards creativity as much as reflexes.
